SAVE MONEY FOR CEDAR POINT
Cedar Point is one of the top Amusement parks to visit in the United States. Cedar Point has 18 world-class roller coasters and many other incredible experiences to offer. Who wouldn't want to spend a day at Cedar Point? Amusement parks can be very pricey and Cedar Point is no different, with high ticket prices, food and beverages this all can really add up. I have created this as a resource to help you plan a budget friendly trip to Cedar Point with your family. If you live close to Sandusky Ohio, this could be a great idea for that "Staycation" you have planned this year. If Cedar Point is part of your actual vacation this year, I have also Included some tips that may help you save on hotel accommodations as well. I really hope you find these tips helpful and are able to enjoy a day or multiple days at the park without a lot of additional expenses.
1) Tickets....One of the biggest costs is the actual ticket to Cedar Point amusement parks, but this does not have to be the case. There are multiple ways to save on tickets for a trip to cedar point. One great way to do this is to follow Cedar Point on Facebook for great ticket deals posted just before your trip. If your dates are really flexible Cedar Point often runs some great deals throughout the season that can save you a lot of money. Last year I know they did some random deals on select days so keep an eye out for these types of promotions. They offer discounts for military members and their families, all active duty, retired and honorably discharged for May 25-28th, 2018. They also offer discounts for groups of 15 or more, so if you can get a larger group of family and friends together you can save some on tickets. Certain employers partner with Cedar Point and their employees are offered discount tickets on specific days throughout the summer. You may find these ticket deals with a number of the big employers around the State of Ohio. Discounted season passes can save you a lot if you plan multiple trips throughout the year or multiple days at the park while on vacation. 2) Food and beverages.... Feeding your family or yourself at cedar point can cost a lot if not done right, costing you a lot of unnecessary expense that can be prevented. There are ways to save some extra money one these things throughout the park, but there are other options available as well. You can pack food and either leave food and beverage items in your vehicle, or leave them in the public picnic areas outside the front gate. Cedar point also allows guests to bring an individual unopened water bottle per their website rules. This may help you to have water on hand when you arrive at the park, and you can always refill with water at various locations throughout the park. You are also permitted to leave the park or even the parking lot your parking pass so you could leave and come back which gives you more budget friendly food options for meals. Make sure if you do leave the park that you stop and get your hand stamped at the front gate before leaving.

If you choose to dine outside of the park you may be able to find some additional money-saving coupons and deals with these Restaurant rewards programs and apps.
3) Hotels.... If you are traveling to Cedar Point or staying for more than one day then you are in luck there are many reasonably priced options for lodging available. Cedar point resorts and hotels are great and very convenient, they also may have some added benefits for those who stay there like earlier park access, free parking etc. You can however find some great deals at some hotels around the area that are not affiliated with the park and this can save you a lot of money too. Also if you choose a hotel remember that many hotels have rewards programs and with so many stays you can earn free hotel stays for future vacations so be sure to sign up for one of these if you haven't for the hotel you choose. 4) Parking....You can save money by purchasing your parking pass in advance online though Cedar Point's website as well. Go here to purchase the parking pass in advance and save $5 on each parking pass by purchasing in advance. Parking is listed at the bottom so be sure to scroll down the page to locate the parking deal.
